Valerie is a classically trained actor based in Austin, Texas.

While earning her BA in Theatre from St. Edward's University (specializing in devised and physical theatre) she simultaneously earned Equity membership through various regional productions.  She is a graduate of the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art Postgraduate Classical Acting course and holds an MA in Shakespeare and Theatre from The Shakespeare Institute/ University of Birmingham.

During her 12 years in NYC, Valerie was a founder and Artistic Director of Wandering Bark Theatre Co., a group dedicated to adapting classical plays, and has created, produced, written, directed, and performed in several adaptations of Shakespeare, Chekhov and Ibsen as well as classical literature. wandering-bark.org

She was honored by The New York Innovative Theatre Awards for her work in her new play mash-up of Hamlet, Southern Gothic literature and bluegrass/ gospel music Short Life of Trouble (Outstanding Ensemble NOMINEE) and her Madame Bovary inspired solo show YOU/EMMA (Outstanding Solo Performance WINNER).

Her small town Texas upbringing (on a chicken farm) has fostered a love of astronomy and gardening. She is equal parts New Yorker and Londoner at heart, and enjoys working on her 20 acres of West Texas ranch land.
